New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent participating in the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, saying the country is proud of its athletes and their hard work and dedication.
In a post on X on Saturday, Modi said every athlete representing India had worked exceptionally hard and demonstrated determination ahead of the continental sporting event.
“As the Asian Games commence in Aichi-Nagoya, my best wishes to the Indian contingent. Each athlete has worked incredibly hard and shown remarkable dedication and determination. India is proud of them,” the Prime Minister said.
‘Give your best and shine’
Modi also encouraged the Indian athletes to perform to the best of their abilities and compete with confidence.
“May they give their best, play well and shine!” he said in his message to the contingent.
The Prime Minister’s message comes as Indian athletes begin their campaign at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, seeking to compete across multiple sporting disciplines.
The Asian Games bring together athletes from across the continent and provide a major platform for Indian sportspersons to compete at the highest level in Asian competition.
India’s contingent includes athletes competing in a range of disciplines, with the country’s sporting establishment focusing on strong performances across events.
The Prime Minister’s message highlighted the preparation and dedication of the athletes representing India, while wishing them success as competition gets underway.
The Asian Games are among the major multi-sport events on the international calendar, and performances at the competition also provide athletes an opportunity to gain experience against leading competitors from across Asia.
With the Games underway, the Indian contingent will now look to translate months of preparation and training into performances on the field.
